Toronto-native Carol Turner has just completed her first year as superintendent at Bigwin Island Golf Club, a role she almost convinced herself not to go for owing to her perceived lack of experience.

When she saw the job ad was looking for someone with 5 years' experience as assistant superintendent as opposed to the two she had amassed, Turner admits she almost talked herself out of applying. But her local knowledge and open, forthright approach earned her the top job.
