As President of fashion brand Linksoul and founder of the Ashworth Golf Company, John Ashworth has always done things in his own inimitable style.

He believes golf should be at the heart of a community. Which is why he helped save his local 18-hole short course, Goat Hill Park in Oceanside, California, from development.

As “head care-giver” (owner) of the public facility, which he calls "the people’s course”, Ashworth explains why golf matters to the community and why more community short courses are needed.
